Can anyone tell me the meaning of the first name Kien?

I have heard it as a girl's name, and would love to know its meaning and origin. Any help would be great!

Can anyone tell me the meaning of the first name Kien?
There are 2 girls names that are very similar to "your" Kien.

The first being "Kienalle" which is of American origin, meaning "light"

The second being "Kienna" No origin found for this one but apparently means "brash"

Hope this helps. xxx
Reply:A very quick search shows no real origin or meaning to the name. It seems to be part of a last name, also as a name that showed up in a census in Australia.
Reply:I've never heard of it and assumed it was a boy's name as well.
Reply:I'm not sure how to pronouce it, and when I first saw it I immediately thought of a boy, not a girl!
Reply:Kian is actually a boy's name. There are several histories of it (it has been used in several cultures and likely has several meanings). Here's a link to the Welsh version.

My ex-bf in high school had the name Kian (not Kien) for a middle name. His family was from Northern England, so my guess is that it is still used.

How much does it cost to change your first name?

I know where to get the forms, but no one can tell me the cost. I live in the state of WA.

How much does it cost to change your first name?
It is not exactly free. You have to have to obtain copies of your criminal background check which cost about $30 each. I think you have to get one from the feds and one from your state. I think there was a filing fee also. I did this several years ago and it seems like I spent about $100. In my state you are also required to post a notice in the newspaper that runs for a minimum of three days stating that you (listing old name) will now be known as (new name) and that was about $20. If you check with the clerk at your county government office, they can tell you the procedures and costs. By the way - it takes about two months start to finish.
Reply:The legal court fees are about $200. Once you get all those filed and the change is made permanent you take the court forms to social security to get a new card (free) and the license office for a new drivers license (it will cost you a new $40 for it) You cannot change your birth certificate though, that stays the same no matter what
Reply:It's free. As long as you aren't doing it for fraud and it's not obscene, you have the right to use whatever first name you want. Just start using it as part of your legal signature.

Reply:If you are using, or wish to use, a name other than your registered name, there is no legal requirement that you formally change your name. It is, however, recommended that you change your name officially, both for identification and as evidence of your name change.

You are not legally required to change your family name (surname). If you want to you can:

a) use your spouse's family name upon marriage,

b) combine family names with your spouse,

c) return to your family name at birth or after adoption after getting divorced or separated,

d) use a former married name,

e) return to a previous legal name that has been formally registered.

You do not need to register a formal change of name if the change falls within one of the above categories. Your marriage certificate is sufficient proof of your change of name and there may be times when you will also need to produce your birth certificate as proof.

Married couples and their children under 18 years of age may apply on one form.

Your marriage record will only show your name at the time of marriage. It will not record your name after marriage

Is Robyn a female first name? I dunno if I start my email with Mr or Ms?
Robyn is usually a female name in the US, but since emails can potentially come from anyone who is an English speaker, you would be safer leaving out any gendered response and perhaps using "to whom it may concern" or some such formulation.
Reply:Robyn is usually female.

Robin is usually male, as in Robin Hood.

I don't know how you should address the email, the person could be either a male or female.

Why do the Turkish players have their first name on their jerseys?

why not the last name like all the other countries do it? is it cuz of religion or just preference?

Why do the Turkish players have their first name on their jerseys?
its not all of'em. i know that in turkey callin someone by their first name is more common, so there. it has nothing to do with their religion, but their culture.
Reply:There are probably a lot off players with the same last name. Or maybe very long names. Thats why in Brazil for example Romario de Souza Faria is simply called Romario
Reply:its preference

some portuguese and brazilian players also have their jerseys like that
Reply:because they are badA$$E$ and you can stop a Turkey unless you do this
