It sounds Greek to me. His first name was Adam. I'm getting closer to the solution. Very interesting....I found it..Russian...whew, what a search! Now that I did this mysterious search, am I going to get in trouble with some Siberian internet cop?????
What is the nationality of someone whose first name is Mathiades Hradistenuss?
mmm, i feel czech but google doesn't know the last name...spelled incorrectly, perhaps?
Reply:I am guessing, but, since the name of the ancient royal palace in the Czech Republic is "Hradcany Castle", I would say this name is Czech. The syllable "Hrad" does not occur in any other language I have ever heard of.
Reply:Maybe Greek???
Reply:That's a tough call. The first think that pops into my mind is Greek, Turkish or Persian.
Reply:Russian...or czech or romanian...maybe just around those those areas.. you can find the name Mathiades in the net but not the surname...
however ill got to checkif the name is a code or something and i will share you the anagrams if it's something worth
Reply:It's greek. the name Mathiades is Mathew in English.
Reply:It sounds Greek to me!
Reply:It's not Greek, but it does have many parts of that region as possible sources. I'd be confident enough to say it's from the Balkans, whether Hungary, Serbia,Montenegro, Croatia, Romania, Albania, etc we don't know.
I went through an advanced search at Ellis Island to see if there were soundex names or alternative endings that would match a second wave immigrant's records...no luck. The HRAD- isn't the problem...it's that the HRAD doesn't linguistically match the -ISTENUSS. There's quite possibly someone playing with the spelling post-immigration here.
Reply:Czech, I presume. All pages that have the name Mathiades are from a domain ending in .cz
