Is it legal to Sign Your Signature with your first name initialed?

I want to write my signature but my first name is kind of long so is it legal to sign it as B. Singh (in Cursive)

You can create your signature any way you want it...i worked in a bank and lots of people had some illegible signature...but they do it for security reasons...
