Hi,
I am in the process of attempting to write a one of a kind pioneering musical/operetta thing,,, however I am designing it with a transparent cast. Meaning roles can be played by any age, gender etc. I have considered the main lead to be a name that can work for the most masculine male, to the most feminine female. What do you think is the ULTIMATE universal, name?
What is the most androgynous first name of all time?
Come on, don't your remember from Saturday Night Live... PAT
Reply:Pat.
Okay. That's prety lame. I think any of the surnames that are being tacked onto kds as first names would work well, except for Madison which has developed an indelible association with little girls and mermaids. But McKenzie, Carter, Taylor, O'Brian-- any of those are good. Heck, what about Obama?
Reply:Frankie (nn for Frances or Francis)
Sam (nn for Samantha or Samuel)
Merle
Jack (nn for Jaqueline or John)
Reply:I was about to say Chris... when I say (and therefore remembered) the name PAT.
(...though Sam, Max, Lee and Alex are also androgynous.)
